Nawoo - A Hybrid VRChat Avatar (PC + Good + Quest) - FT Update!
Introducing Nawoo
Meet Nawoo, an extremely customizable dual Human and Furry VRChat Avatar with stunning details and loads of features.
Furry? Human? Both!
With Nawoo, you don't have to pick just one. Quickly swap between either version in game with a single button that beautifully transitions you from one to the other, keeping every single adjustment you've made. How can this all fit in a performative package? See below!
Now Supporting Face Tracking!
Nawoo uses VRCFT's Unified Expressions to have maximum compatibility across different face tracking devices and interfaces.
Contacts and Facial Expressions with Particles
Nawoo being quite the character she is matched with a wide array of facial expressions and moving parts, loads of interactions, and cute particles.
- 15 Total Expressions, with the default grip being empty to avoid typical annoying permanent-expressions
- Anti-Poke in each eye to avoid eye pokes, ouch! Head Pats, Ear/Tail Grabs, Body Grabs, and a Nose Boop
- Ear Twitches, Tail Wag Speed Changes that match her expressions, and Custom Blinking (Normal blinks and rare Double blinks)
- Stars that fly out with a wink, Angry particles that float above her head when she's angry
Clothing and Accessory Options
Nawoo's Clothing and Accessories use high quality scratch PBR (Physical Based Rendering) textures which result in incredible details that work with the environment you're in, ultimately making her look amazing no matter where you bring her. She has:
- Three tops (Hoodie, Crop Top, Shirt), Two bottoms (Tech-Punk Pants, Shorts)
- 30 individually toggle-able accessories
- Dissolve Animations for almost all toggles
So Much Stylization
You can make Nawoo truly yours with her near limitless levels of stylization. All of her stylization is easily adjustable in game to quickly suit your needs, which syncs and saves between both versions.
- Choose between 9 preset outfits and 15 preset colors that all look unique and stylish, with color combinations you've never seen on any other avatar before
- Want to pick out your own colors? Use her Two-Tone Hue Shift system to create a combination of colors completely unique to you, with independent sliders for the eyes
- The Human & Furry version have Separate Hair Styles unique to each version. Pick between 6 total back hair styles, 3 for each version
- LOADS of Hair / Fur Color Customization. Individual Hue, Saturation, and Brightness sliders. Black and Colored Hair Tip toggles, with a slider for the Colored Tips. All hair / fur color adjustments sync between both versions
- Dig a white outfit more than black? Individually change the color of the Hoodie, Crop Top, Tech-Punk Pants, Shorts, or Accessories to their white alternatives
- Tons of Outfits and Colors not enough? She also has a Flat-Chest/Femboy slider, Skin Tone slider, Shiny skin toggle, a Nail Length toggle, a Tattoo toggle, two Face Marking toggles, a Transparency slider that affects some of her accessories, a Manual Zipper slider, and even Audio Link
A Tennis Ball, Dancing Trails, and more
Nawoo can't be separated from her favorite toys, which aptly includes a Tennis Ball and a Bone! She also has various other toys which are perfect for dancing, utility, and ADHD.
- A Tennis Ball you can throw, bounce, and retrieve
- A Bone you can keep in your mouth, grab, or spin on your finger
- A Moon Spring Joint glittering in the night sky
- A smooth Marker that can be used ambidextrously, with a color slider and the ability to attach drawings to yourself
- Dancing Hand Trails that get longer the faster you move them
- GPU Particles that are extra springy
Full, Good, and Quest Compatible Versions
Does Nawoo have Good and Quest versions too? Yes. She has two more packages that contain so many of the same features the full version has. Things like Clothing & Accessory toggles, Hue Shifts, Hair Stylization, and much more. Each package contains 4 different versions that allow you to customize your avatar to almost any configuration you can have with the Full version.
Performance Stats and Optimization
Using Nawoo, you will never be the reason anyone drops tons of frames. All of the bullet point stats below are for her base avatar without toys.
- Her only "Very Poor" rating is Polygons at 242,275. For two completely unique avatars packed into one with the amount of options and customization you have access to, this number is a feat
- She takes heavy advantage of UV Discard which allows her to have a low Skinned Mesh Renderers count of only 8, and takes advantage of Texture Atlasing to have a Material Count as low as 11. If she were using traditional toggle methods, these numbers could be up to 45 Skinned Meshes and Materials for her base and clothing/accessories alone, oof
- With all of these options and toggles, a typical Animator layer could go close to 100 individual layers which would hugely impact performance (read benchmarks here), so she uses a single Direct Blend Tree to compact it all down to just 23 layers - Most of which are made up by toys that can be easily removed
- She also only has 3 "Poor" rated stats, which include 19 Phys Bone Components, 146 Phys Bone Transform count, and 140.04 MB Texture Memory which can easily be brought down by reducing two 4k textures, leaving you with 108.04 MB. The rest of her stats are medium rated or better
What does all of this mean in not-nerd terms?
35 people in a world could be using the full version of Nawoo before the average player's game ran below 60 FPS, using benchmarks conducted on a system running a 3060 Ti and an i5-12600K.
